Orange County Optometrist
Dr. Terra S. Leight graduated with her Doctorate of Optometry from the Southern California School of Optometry at Marshall B. Ketchum University after receiving her undergraduate degree in psychobiology at the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA).
While attending the Southern California School of Optometry, Dr. Leight was awarded the Dr. Homer A. Nelson Memorial Scholarship and Dr. Reynaldo J. Carreon, Jr. Memorial Endowed Scholarship. She completed her residency specializing in ocular disease and low vision rehabilitation at the VA Los Angeles Ambulatory Care Center.
Dr. Leight comes to Harvard Eye Associates with experience in treating and managing patients with various ocular conditions such as glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, hypertensive retinopathy, and macular degeneration. She is highly trained and skilled at performing comprehensive eye exams as well as pre-operative and post-operative exams. She is clinically fluent in Spanish.
Giving back to the community is also a passion of hers. Dr. Leight has volunteered at Care Harbor LA and assisted with yearly vision screenings for the at-risk population in the LA area who do not have access to healthcare. Dr. Leight also provided vision screenings for Special Olympics athletes during yearly regional games and the World games and for children in the Santa Ana School District to ensure they receive early eye exams and eye care.
During her free time, Dr. Leight enjoys coffee, sunsets, wine tasting with friends, and attending concerts. She loves to stay active by hiking and mountain biking with her husband. Dr. Leight became an optometrist because it allows her to help people and create relationships with many patients and she is excited to continue to do so as part of the Harvard Eye family.
