Orange County BOTOX® expert Harvard Eye Associates are experts in facial rejuvenation treatments through BOTOX.
BOTOX® Cosmetic is a purified protein formulation of botulinum toxin type A, which works as a muscle relaxant. It is a non-surgical procedure that can be performed in an examination room and requires no anesthetic. BOTOX® Cosmetic was ranked the most popular of all cosmetic procedures by the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery.
The appearance of wrinkles increases as a result of sun exposure and your age. Luckily, recent advancements in medicine allow you to diminish the look of crow's feet, frown lines, and furrowed brows with a simple fifteen-minute procedure, applied with an extremely fine needle that injects small amounts of medicine under the skin.
At Harvard Eye Associates, you will received the benefits of a free consultation with our Aesthetic RN, in a relaxed environment where your options will be thoroughly discussed and explained.
BOTOX® Cosmetic is an FDA-approved protein compound that reduces wrinkles in the upper third of the face, including forehead lines, crow's feet, and frown lines between the eyes. Just a few tiny injections are needed to weaken and inactivate the muscles that cause wrinkles. As the muscle weakens, the skin overlying the muscle relaxes, causing the wrinkles caused by muscle contractions to soften and often disappear. Since it paralyzes only muscle, BOTOX® Cosmetic does not affect the sensory nerves or cause any numbness of the face. Results typically last up to four months or longer.

During your first consultation, we will determine which treatment is appropriate for you, depending on your needs and expectations. Be sure to ask any questions and address any concerns before undergoing the procedure. This exam will also allow us to determine the number and regularity of treatments that best suit your needs.
Since treatment is non-surgical, it does not require a surgery center. Instead, the procedure can be performed in an examination room. The appointment typically lasts only fifteen to thirty minutes, where an extremely small dose of BOTOX® Cosmetic will be injected, using an ultra-fine needle. You may feel a slight stinging sensation during injection, which quickly subsides.
With BOTOX® Cosmetic, you may not see immediate effects until three or four days after treatment, and you will notice improvement for several days after that. If you experience any discomfort after the procedure, ice compresses or over-the-counter pain medication can be used. Some BOTOX® Cosmetic patients may experience a temporary drooping of the eyelid, as the treatment may spread and relax your eyelid muscles. This usually goes away after a week or two.
Because this procedure is non-invasive and non-surgical, you may return to your normal activities immediately. Be aware, however, that BOTOX® Cosmetic is not a cure for severe wrinkles. The appearance of wrinkles will diminish after treatment, but may not disappear entirely. However, regular treatments have been shown to have a long-lasting effect on the reduction of wrinkles in your face.
The vast majority of our patients are extremely happy with their appearance after treatment, though we cannot guarantee results. We assure that we offer the genuine Allergan BOTOX® Cosmetic product, properly prepared for maximum benefits to achieve the results you desire. We invite you to contact us today for more information.
